ROY JECONIAH: Dunia Aktivisme, Buku-Buku, Literasi, dan Kebun Makna

Kreativitas, memiliki tiga syarat. Pertama, cinta kasih atau api peduli. Kedua, keterlibatan. Dan ketiga, harus sesuai nilai-nilai universal.

Reputasi Bung Roy Jeconiah dalam kepengasuhan anak-anak muda Indonesia tentunya tidak kita ragukan. Rekam jejaknya di blantika music rock Indonesia sebagai mantan vokalis band Boomerang yang legendaris itu kita ingat dengan cukup kuat di memori generasi anak 90-an. Sekarang dengan band-nya Jecovox, dia masih menancapkan panji-panji music rock di Indonesia dan tak pernah kehilangan penggemar fanatik dan militan. Dan sekali lagi, cara bung Roy merawat persekawanan juga kepengasuhan yang tanpa henti, loyal dan konsisten di segala ruang kreatif tidak hanya musik saja, namun banyak bidang dan sektor itulah, yang begitu kuat membuat saya terkesan secara pribadi setelah begitu lama mengenalnya, terutama di ruang aktivisme pergerakan politik pemuda, di organisasi Rakyat Kuasa. Front Perjuangan Pemuda Indonesia (FPPI).

Tentu mengejutkan bagi panjenengan semua. Roy Jeconiah terlibat di aktivisme pergerakan? Ya. Betul, saya saksinya. Langsung atau tidak langsung, bung Roy yang memang musisi Rock terlibat penuh dalam ranah pergerakan. Dengar saja lagu-lagu Boomerang, menginspirasi dan penuh semangat gerakan. Selain itu, sejak awal, bung Anndhonx Scrambler sahabat dekatnya banyak cerita, jauh sebelum saya mengenalnya di periode akhir 2000-an. Sejak anak-anak muda dan para mahasiswa berontak di periode 98, generasi ini rata-rata menjadikan Bung Roy sebagai seorang “role model” dan sosok musisi yang “rebellian”, menginspirasi penuh dan total. Baik lewat corak musikalitasnya, cara pandang, gaya hidup, maupun pemikiran-pemikirannya, sangat mencerminkan karakter yang “pure” khas anak muda pemberontak dan suka “melawan”, kritis dan peduli sosial, sekaligus sangat cinta tanah air.

Walaupun gondrong, bertatto, dan nampak ugal-ugalan, namun Bung Roy sangat berprestasi dan membawa semangat kepeloporan. Bung Roy selalu melingkar di ruang-ruang tongkrong aktivis 90-an sampai 98-an bahkan sampai detik ini tetap bersilaturahmi ke seluruh penjuru kota yang dilewatinya setiap Band Jecovox manggung, dengan tekun menyambangi kawan-kawan lamanya yang rata-rata aktivis. Bahkan sejak organisasi Rakyat Kuasa berdiri, yang merupakan gabungan organisasi mahasiswa-pemuda se- Jawa Bali periode 1997 dan dideklarasikan pada tahun 2000 di Jakarta, Bung Roy hampir selalu tidak pernah absen membersamai dan selalu hadir di setiap gerak-ruang-waktu organisasi ini.

Setiap Kongres Nasional FPPI, bung Roy selalu hadir menghibur dan bernyanyi dengan gitarnya yang berstiker Che Guevara dan stiker ®️ sekaligus memotivasi spirit dan membakar seutuhnya semangat pergerakan kami di setiap acara besar maupun kecil hingga sampai saat ini. FPPI memiliki lambang huruf besar ® dalam lingkaran dan menyelipkan tulisan Rakyat Kuasa berwarna kuning di latar dasar merah, yang memiliki arti dekat dengan “People Power”. Dengan terbahak Bung Roy bercerita semasa dulu Boomerang konser, selalu ada saja bendera para Boomers yang mengibarkan bendera Rakyat Kuasa. Bahkan diplesetkan dengan Rakyat Kuat. Entah sengaja atau tidak.

Siang tadi bung Roy Jeconiah tiba-tiba mampir ke Kedai Kopi dan Taman Baca Kebun Makna . Mengejutkan saya. Saya selalu kagum dengan cara beliau merawat persekawanan, kelembutan hati, sikap “low profile dan humble”- nya kepada siapa pun, dan juga support tanpa henti kepada yang lebih muda, untuk terus berdaya gerak dan melanggengkan spirit kreativitas tanpa henti. Melanjutkan kata-kata Rendra tadi, sikap bung Roy mewakili seluruhnya ; api peduli, cinta kasihnya, nilai-nilai universal yang dia genggam, simpati yang terejawantahkan menjadi empati, berupa tindakan atas segala sesuatu yang disebut kesadaran. Ada pula yang menyebut perpaduan antara kesadaran dan aksi ini disebut komitmen. Wujud kontekstualnya dapat berupa kejujuran sikap, kesabaran tekad, sikap pantang menyerah. “Perjuangan adalah pelaksanaan kata-kata”, begitu Sang Raksasa Penyair Indonesia WS Rendra menyebutnya dalam salah satu puisinya.

Hal-hal prinsipil yang semakin langka di zaman kekinian ini selalu membuat saya yang lebih muda malu (sungkem wolak-walik bung!) dan ingin terus belajar untuk melanjutkannya merawat hal semacam itu kepada beliau. Dia tipikal manusia yang tipe pikirannya selalu menyala dan memantik api kreativitas. Mode of life-nya senantiasa digunakan untuk merawat kebaikan dalam hidup demi terobosan kemajuan serta menggerakkan apa yang bisa dilakukan demi perubahan mendasar (politik, sosial, budaya) terutama menyangkut kemajuan kaum muda Indonesia.

Hal pertama yang beliau lakukan ketika tiba di Kebun Makna tadi siang adalah ; menyisir dengan serius dan memeriksa satu demi satu judul koleksi buku-buku Taman Baca kami yang berjumlah hampir 2000-an judul itu. Beberapa buku favoritnya beliau ambil dari rak dan ditunjukkan kepada saya sambil dikomentari, yaitu : “Pemberontak” karya Albert Camus, “Madilog” karya Tan Malaka, “Filsafat Nietszche” Karya Gilles Deleuze. Dia bilang itu semua buku favoritnya. “Wah buku babon wajib baca semua”, batinku. Menunjukkan beliau merawat ingatan tentang buku-buku yang telah dibacanya dan tentunya berpengaruh ke dalam hidupnya semenjak muda. Dia jelas sekali melek literasi. Pernah dalam satu cuitan akun twitter pribadinya (@jecovox) tanggal 24 Mei 2014 menunjukkan foto sebuah buku ; Kerusuhan 98, Fakta, Data dan Analisa, dengan cuitan ; Sedang membaca ulang buku menarik ini. #tragedi98 jangan dilupakan.
Ituu membuktikan lagi bahwa selain bekal membaca merupakan minat sejak muda, Roy Jeconiah juga begitu akrab dan erat terlibat dengan dunia aktivisme perlawanan Mei 98, dengan pesan menghimbau untuk selalu merawat ingatan bagi generasi muda, lewat sebagian besar lagu-lagu Boomerang jelas sekali nuansa itu semua.

Tentu panjenengan semua tahu tanpa saya harus menyebutkan lagu-lagu itu, sebut saja lagu berjudul Generasi Baru dalam album Urbanoustic yang dirilis tanggal 8 Oktober 2004 itu, dan tentunya banyak sekali, tanpa melupakan album Boomerang berjudul Suara Jalanan yang rilis tahun 2009 silam tentunya. Sebagai seorang seniman, apalagi musisi besar seperti dia, tentu saja melek literasi adalah prasyarat utama sebagai daya dukung akan proses prestasi yang dicapainya. Apalagi karya-karyanya yang fenomenal dan kiprah musiknya yang begitu dicintai oleh lintas generasi Indonesia. Kita semua tahu dan mengakui. Sejarah musik Rock Indonesia mencatatnya tebal.

Obrolan tentang buku-buku dan literasi terus berlanjut asyik sambil kami ngopi dan merokok kretek ramai-ramai bersama di meja panjang khusus Kebun Makna. Obrolan serius berlanjut mengenai nasib generasi muda Indonesia yang minat bacanya kini sangat rendah karena terampas imbas teknologi digital terutama karena efek negatif HP, begitu dia memulai diskusi. Dengan jernih dan eksplisit dia bahkan memetakan masalah utama literasi Indonesia langsung ke jantung inti persoalan dan mendukung dengan tegas untuk segera merumuskan cita-cita bersama dan formulasi gerakan budaya membaca dan menulis dengan tujuan melek literasi demi masa depan generasi muda Indonesia. Bung Roy prihatin dan sangat ikut senang dan berbahagia dengan Gerakan literasi dan kampanye budaya baca di Kebun Makna dan berharap terus dilanjutkan walaupun fasilitas pendukung belum cukup memadai. Beliau memberitahukan akan mencoba mengkonsolidasikan kawan-kawan Jakarta untuk menghimpun donasi berupa tambahan buku-buku untuk Kebun Makna. Beliau mengaku aktif melihat akun instagram Kebun Makna (@kebun.makna) dan (memang) selalu membagikan di story akun Instagramnya (Roy Jeconiah Official ®) setiap flyer kegiatan apa pun taman baca kami dengan harapan agar postingan dan kegiatan positif kami selama ini memiliki daya jangkauan yang lebih luas.

Buku, Musik, Literasi, Seni dan Visi Bersama.

Hal-hal bervibrasi luhur dan baik yang berdekatan secara kreatif ini memang kami cintai bersama sejak dulu. Bung Roy secara eksplisit bilang berencana jika ke arah Magelang lagi tentunya akan mengagendakan untuk bermusik akustikan di Taman Baca Kebun Makna. Dalam rangka sebuah upaya sokongan beliau sebagai musisi untuk memaksimalkan gaung gerakan Literasi terutama yang telah dimulai di kampung kecil tercinta kami Karang Sanggrahan, Plosogede, Ngluwar, Magelang. Memang gerakan kecil kami mulai disambut baik oleh anak-anak muda kampung dengan terlibat aktif sebagai relawan. Dalam waktu belum ada dua bulan, Kebun Makna telah membuat 4 acara besar yang cukup disambut hangat gembira oleh publik dan masyarakat. Yaitu : Acara Soft Launching Kebun Makna yang mementaskan banyak ragam kesenian, Diskusi Buku Puisi yang salah satu pembicaranya adalah Elisabeth D Inandiak (Sastrawan dunia berkebangsaan Perancis yang menterjemahkan Serat Centhini lengkap 12 jilid ke dalam Bahasa Perancis dan Inggris / yang juga kebetulan adalah mertua Eross Sheila on 7), Festival Toleransi yang dihadiri oleh KH Yusuf Cludory (Gus Yusuf) Tegalrejo Magelang, dan Pelatihan kepenulisan dan Keorganisasian dengan 40-an peserta dari Mahasiswa UIN Walisongo Semarang dan UIN Salatiga. Semoga rencana-rencana baik dengan Bung Roy Jeconiah nanti berjalan dengan baik dan sesuai harapan cita-cita. Semoga harapan baik dan benih cita-cita luhur bertumbuh dengan baik. Adalah sebuah kehormatan dan kebahagiaan bagi kami Keluarga Besar Kedai Kopi dan Taman Baca Kebun Makna yang seluruh pegawai, relawan dan tim intinya berasal dari anak-anak muda Kampung Karang Sanggrahan yang sebagian seluruhnya adalah anak-anak petani desa.

Divisi Kebun Makna yang sudah terbentuk adalah divisi Petani Milenial Organik yang kini sudah mulai menanam, divisi Taman Baca dan Perpustakaan, Divisi Penerbitan. Dan Perkumpulan “Akar Makna” sebentar lagi akan menjadi Lembaga resmi kebudayaan, sehingga rencana dan cita-cita baik semakin memungkinkan untuk terwujud dan makin mudah terlaksana.
