Ibnu Arabi merupakan salah satu tokoh besar dalam sejara Islam. Pemikirannya tentang konsep Wahdatul-Wujud amatlah menarik sekaligus menimbulkan sejumlah kontroversi di kalangan Muslim sendiri. Ia dituduh sebagai seorang panteis, mistisme natural, monisme eksistensial, dan sebagainya. Dalam tulisan ini, penulis berargumen bahwa pandangan tersebut tidaklah tepat dengan menunjukkan sejumlah kesalahpahaman serius dari kebanyakan orang yang mengkritiknya tentang paham wahdatul-wujud.
