“DAS KAPITAL” KARL MARX DIREVISI PARA AHLI: Banyak Mengandung Ketidaksesuaian dengan Tulisan Marx Asli

Tulisan pendek ini saya terjemahkan dari “Taz Die Tageszeitung”, sebuah surat kabar harian berhaluan kiri yang terbit di Berlin, Jerman. Tulisan ini dimuat dalam edisi Senin, 4 Februari 2013, halaman 16. Isinya mengenai seminar yang diselenggarakan oleh Friedrich Ebert Stiftung untuk mendengarkan hasil-hasil pemeriksaan teks yang dilakukan oleh para ahli Marx atas Das Kapital. Sekalipun banyak sekali ditemukan teks yang harus diubah dalam Das Kapital agar sesuai dengan tulisan Marx yang sebenarnya, belum diketahui bagaimana dampak perubahan teks ini atas pemikiran Marx sebagaimana terdapat dalam Das Kapital. Acara yang diselenggarakan oleh Yayasan Friedrich Ebert di Berlin itu terdengar paradoks, yang mengandung teka-teki: “Das Kapital Karl Marx, Tentang Edisi Akhir dari Sebuah Proyek yang Tidak Berakhir”. Para pembaca Marx menganggap bahwa karya Marx yang berjudul Das Kapital, yang terbit dalam tiga jilid antara 1867 dan 1894, adalah karya utama dan penutup. Marx meninggal 1883 dan Friedrich Engels kemudian “menyelesaikan” buku temannya itu. Setelah Revolusi Oktober 1917 dan pendirian “Demokrasi Rakyat” di Eropa Timur setelah 1945, rezim-rezim di wilayah tersebut melakukan segala hal agar Das Kapital seperti Bibel dikanonisasi.

Para Marxis di Barat memang segera meragukan interpretasi tersebut, tetapi mereka tidak memiliki pemahaman yang teliti dan persis atas karya Marx yang telah diredaksi oleh Engels, demikian juga atas manuskrip-manuskrip Marx, “Marx-Engels-Werksausgabe” (MEW- karya-karya Marx Engels) yang dijilid berwarna biru itu, yang diterbitkan di Moskow di bawah pemerintahan rezim Stalin, memang menyajikan teks ilmiah yang ketat, tapi tidak sesuai dengan teks yang ditinggalkan oleh Marx, melainkan sesuai dengan konstruksi Das Kapital sebagai karya terakhir dalam atap Marxismus-Leninismus.

Sejak 1972-1990 sekelompok ahli ilmu sosial di Berlin dan Moskow melakukan pekerjaan-pekerjaan yang sangat teliti dengan kerumitan yang tidak terbayangkan untuk mengurai konstruksi Das Kapital tersebut. Berdasarkan manuskrip-manuskrip Marx dan Engels yang tersedia kemudian disusunlah edisi MEGA yang baru (Marx-Engels-Gesamtausgabe-Krya-Karya Lengkap Marx-Engels) yang berisikan apa yang dikatakan dan diwariskan oleh Marx dan hasilnya adalah sebuah kerangka kasar. (Catatan: para ahli Marx dewasa ini umumnya menggunakan edisi MEGA ini).

Hasil kerja pemeriksaan atas teks MEGA ini, yang sejak 1990 dikoordinasikan secara internasional oleh Yayasan Internasional Marx-Engels (IMES) baru saja selesai. Lembaga-lembaga yang terlibat dalam pemeriksaan teks tersebut (die Berlin Brandenburgische Akademie der Wissenchaften, das Russlandische Staatliche Archiv fur Sozial-und Politikgeschichte (RGASPI) di Moskow, das Internationale Instituts fur Sozialgeschichte di Amsterdam, die Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung in Bonn und Arbeitstellen an den Universitaten Sendai und Tokio di Jepang) akhirnya melihat bahwa Das Kapital itu bukanlah karya yang telah selesai, melainkan hanya merupakan timbunan besar dari fragmen-fragmen teks dan rancangan-rancangan.

Dalam edisi MEGA yang dikerjakan secara ilmiah dan menjadi eksemplar ini, buku Das Kapital terdiri dari 15 jilid (dalam 22 bagian) dengan sekitar 12.000 halaman. Pekerjaan pemeriksaan teks ini berlangsung dalam ketenangan. Orang-orang yang mengerjakannya adalah para ilmuan yang tidak suka menonjolkan diri, yang tidak menggembar-gemborkan pekerjaan mereka yang sangat teliti itu, kecerdasan dan ketajaman intelektual mereka serta tekni luar biasa yang mereka praktikkan (yang dimulai dengan mengurai tulisan-tulisan tangan Marx yang hampir tidak terbaca itu). (Catatan: Tulisan tangan Marx terkenal sangat buruk dan konon hanya Engelslah yang dapat membacanya).

Dalam seminar tersebut, ahli Marx, Thomas Kuczynki dan ilmuan politik, Michael Heinrich, mengomentari edisi yang telah selesai direvisi itu, yang meletakkan sebuah basis baru untuk aktivitas ilmiah mengenai Marx. Carl-Erich Vollgraf dari redaksi MEGA menunjukkan bahwa kesibukan intensif Marx atas matematika bukanlah sebuah keanehan, melainkan merupakan usaha Marx untuk menerapkan Matematika dalam menganalisa masalah-masalah ekonomi – Jadi Marx tekah melakukan apa yang diklaim Neo-Rikardoan dewasa ini sebagai jasa mereka.

Dalam Das Kapital yang dikenal sekarang ini, Marx tidak menyertakan pemikiran matematisnya, tapi dalam MEGA arti pemikiran-pemikiran matematis ini dan konteksnya dapat diperiksa dengan tepat. Rolf Hecker telah terlibat dalam pengerjaan MEGA selama 30 tahun dan dia juga memeriksa dengan sangat teliti kerja redaksional yang dilakukan oleh Engels. Ia kemudian menemukan adanya 5.000 perubahan teks hanya dalam jilid dua Das Kapital. (Catatan: maksudnya perubahan dari tulisan asli Marx).

Regina Rothe juga memeriksa kerja Engels dalam jilid ketiga Das Kapital dan membuktikan sebagai contoh bahwa Engels telah menambah kata “Keruntuhan/Kepailitan” (Zusammenbruch) dalam teks tersebut, dan atas dasar itu kemudian kaum Sosial Demokrat pada pergantian abad lalu mengkonstruksi “Teori Keruntuhan Marx”.

Teinosuke Otani (Sendai) dan Ljudmila Vasina (Moskow) mendokumentasikan kontribusi penting institut mereka dalam bagian penutup edisi ini. Itu adalah sebuah prestasi politik kebudayaan yang mengagumkan, yang hanya dapat terjadi karena ahli-ahli internasional telah terhubung dan bersedia bekerja secara terkoordinir.
